Network Architect  

Responsibilities
Network architect is responsible for the overall Layer 2 and 3 network design in support of the clients large LAN/WAN environment. As such, this position reviews client service requests for design impacts, recommends and implements design changes that improve routing and bandwidth efficiency, insures adherence to traffic latency tolerances, reviews and briefs the client and lifecycle team on emerging technologies and its application in the clients infrastructure, provides Tier 3/4 support for difficult service issues, and collaborates with engineering team in setting device-level configurations and options.  Provides security management, application management, LAN/WAN management, VoIP management and tool management.  Candidate must have experience with Network Design, Network Protocols, Layer 2 and 3 Networks, and Network Performance Management.  Additionally, candidate should be familiar with Security and Application Management, Desktop Support, and Server Management.  Candidate must have experience with network design, operational support, hands-on implementation and configuration of routers, hubs, switches, and cabling in a large LAN/WAN UNIX environment.  Candidates preferred with expert knowledge of Cisco routers and Switches, expert knowledge of Cisco VoIP, extensive experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting VLANs using CISCO equipment.  Candidate must have excellent oral communication and technical writing skills and be Cisco CCNP or CCIE Certified.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 7 to10 years experience
  • All candidates must be US Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
