Network Design Engineer I

Responsibilities
Network design engineer will be responsible for the overall Layer 2 and 3 network design in support of the client's large LAN/WAN environment. As such, this position reviews client service requests for design impacts, recommends and implements design changes that improve routing and bandwidth efficiency, insures adherence to traffic latency tolerances, reviews and briefs the client and lifecycle team on emerging technologies and its application in the client's infrastructure, provides Tier 3/4 support for difficult service issues, and collaborates with COE engineering team in setting device-level configurations and options. This position requires a high-degree of experience and certification levels across a broad array of technologies and vendors including Cisco, Big IP,  PIX, Fortinet, Microsoft, and others, as well as, security management, application management, LAN/WAN management, VoIP management, and tool management.  Candidate must have experience with Network Design, Network Protocols, Layer 2 and 3 Networks, and Network Performance Management.  Additionally, candidate should be familiar with Security and Application Management, Desktop Support, and Server Management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 4 and 6 years experience
  • All candidates must be US Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
