American Red Cross

Insight has been providing IT support to the National Biomedical Computer System (NBCS) for the American Red Cross since 2001. This blood management computer system handles all aspects of blood processing for the nation’s premier blood banking organization. The National Biomedical Computer System controls the process from the time donors are scheduled to donate blood, through the donation process, the testing process and the distribution of blood components. Insight provides project management for software services that maintain the NBCS system. In its early stages with the American Red Cross, Insight provided the lead Project Quality Analyst for four releases under the NBCS, including quality oversight for software services and quarterly audits of the development process.

Insight’s work within other divisions of the American Red Cross included Database and contact management services in a fast-past, customer service oriented environment utilizing Access, Oracle, Seibel, Plateau. /p>

Insight also provided the IT Financial Management Lead within the Finance Department and the Office of the CIO for the American Red Cross. IT solutions included development of timelines for the world class Financial Management and Portfolio plan, as well as strategies, execution and support for this quasi-governmental agency. The overall goal was to analyze the strategic and business value of all IT investments, ensuring that all IT projects and investments demonstrate positive ROI and relate directly to the organization’s strategic objectives and mission.
